This 90 minute course will explore the tangible things of nature and God’s amazing design at the cellular and molecular levels of plant and animal biology and ecology, as well as other biological concepts in an engaging way using The Riot and the Dance: Foundational Biology textbook by Gordon Wilson. We will occasionally incorporate readings from other relevant sources as well. In class, students will benefit from hands-on experience and lab work in groups. Labs serve to further demonstrate and solidify concepts discussed in class and in the textbook. Classroom lab activities will include microscopic and dissection activities as well as some outdoor lab exercises. Students will learn at home through a combination of assigned readings, videos, and questions to reinforce important concepts and deepen their understanding of biology in the world around us and in our everyday lives.
