The Environmental science class will show students how they can use science to understand and protect the world they live in. Authentic case studies not only provide relevance to chapter concepts, but they aid students as they learn to make sense of phenomena. Students build critical observation and analytical skills as they work through the case study storyline. Open class discussions will allow students to relate knowledge back to their worldviews and debate / defend / acknowledge the viewpoints of other students. The book is a secular book, but we will teach the class from a Biblical standpoint and talk about good stewardship of our world and how we should take care of it so that future generations can enjoy its wonders.
