Being able to read and speak God’s word aloud is a powerful thing, but it can also be confusing and daunting. In this class we’ll explore the different types of literature found in scripture and how you can speak them confidently and in a meaningful way. We’ll learn how to read passages cold, prepare to read, and how to speak from memory. We’ll even look at techniques for dealing with unfamiliar people and place names. Memorization will be required for certain passages and we’ll also be presenting our work at our fall and spring family nights. You don’t have to be a performer to enjoy this class. You’ll be building knowledge and confidence no matter where you’re starting from as well as strengthening your public speaking and personal devotional skills at the same time.
