This introductory graphic design course is designed to introduce students to the foundational principles and tools of digital design. Students will explore various graphic design techniques used in advertising, web design, branding, and multimedia projects. The course covers the basics of layout, typography, color theory, image editing, and vector graphics. Students will work with industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create their own designs, learning both the technical and creative aspects of the design process.
Throughout the course, students will engage in hands-on projects, including creating posters, logos, and social media graphics. Emphasis will be placed on creativity, problem-solving, and visual communication, as well as the importance of design in everyday life and media. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of work that demonstrates their ability to design for different purposes and audiences.
There is no supply fee, but students/parents must commit to provided the required equipment and software.
